ATHENS, Ga. -The Georgia Bulldogs wrapped up bowl preparations in Athens Tuesday with an 80-minute session and now will take a four-day break for the holidays.

"I told the team before we got started today that I wanted them to focus for an hour and 20 minutes, and they stayed focus and did a good job," said Georgia coach Mark Richt. "We did scout team work and finished with a one-minute drill where the offense had to go 70 yards for a touchdown. They were able to move the ball well, but the defense held them out in the end. They got the stops."

At the end of the final bowl practice Tuesday, the annual tradition of having a Bulldog sing a tune in front of the team to reduce the amount of conditioning that day was continued. This year, junior nose tackle Justin Anderson provided a worthy performance much to the delight of his teammates. Also, the Bulldogs had a few spirited races between offensive and defensive players.

Richt provided an update on a trio of Bulldogs who have been injured of late. He said senior defensive end DeMarcus Dobbs and sophomore flanker Rantavious Wooten would play in the bowl game. However, senior defensive end Brandon Wood would not be available for the game due to a shoulder injury.

Georgia had eight days of bowl practice in Athens including a pair of two-a-day workouts. The team will reconvene in Memphis, Tenn., for final preparations on Dec. 26.

Georgia (6-6) will battle 24th-ranked Central Florida (10-3) in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 31 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN and carried on national radio on SIRIUS channel 120 and XM channel 140.

The Bulldogs will be making their 14th consecutive bowl appearance, and UGA ranks as one of the top five bowl teams of all-time in wins and appearances. Georgia is 26-16-3 all-time in bowl games including 7-2 under Richt.
