ATHENS----- The 23rd-ranked Georgia Bulldogs conducted their sixth bowl practice Friday in Athens with their final one scheduled for Saturday morning.

After the 90-minute practice, Georgia coach Mark Richt said he has been pleased with how the workouts have gone.

"These first few days we've had a lot of enthusiasm and everybody has done a good job," Richt said. "This was the last practice we had competitive drills and finished great plus we did a little running at the end. On Saturday, we'll do about an hour of scout work and our one-minute drill."

Also, Richt indicated the team practiced a long field goal attempt coming up short and running it back. It was a play recently made memorable by Auburn in their win over Alabama and referred to as a "Kick Six" that clinched the SEC Western Division title.

"It was interesting, everybody knew what we were going to do, and only one guy touched him with one hand," Richt said. "If the guy has the range, I'd still kick it but you have to have guys out there in case they run it back."

After practice, junior flanker Chris Conley was presented the annual Christian Robinson G.A.T.A. Award by the Georgia media and the award's namesake. The tradition has been around for several years and G.A.T.A. stands for "Gracious Attitude Towards Answering" as the media selects the top Bulldog who handles his media responsibilities graciously throughout the season. Currently, Robinson is a graduate assistant with the defense after concluding his Bulldog-playing career in 2012.

After Saturday's final workout, the Bulldogs (8-4) will take a four-day break for the holidays. Georgia will reconvene in Jacksonville on Dec. 26 to begin final preparations for the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl against Nebraska (8-4) on Jan. 1.

The Bulldogs will be making their 49th appearance in a bowl game, and they sport a record of 27-18-3. Georgia is 2-0-1 in previous trips to Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl. Georgia's last appearance at the Gator Bowl came in 1989, a 34-27 win over Michigan State. Last year, the Bulldogs capped their season with a 45-31 victory over the Cornhuskers in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando.

ESPN2 will broadcast the Georgia-Nebraska game with kickoff set for noon ET on Jan. 1 at EverBank Field.
