ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley both underwent successful surgeries Tuesday to repair ACL injuries, according to Ron Courson, UGA Sr. Associate Athletic Director and Director of Sports Medicine.
Both surgeries were performed by team orthopedic consultants at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.
Murray, a senior from Tampa, Fla., injured his left knee Saturday in Georgia's victory over Kentucky in Athens.
Scott-Wesley, a redshirt sophomore from Camilla, Ga., injured his right knee during the October 5 Georgia win over Tennessee in Knoxville. Due to the nature of his injury, physicians elected to stage his surgeries. He underwent a meniscal repair first following by the ACL surgery Tuesday.
Both players will begin rehabilitation upon hospital discharge and a full recovery is anticipated according to Courson.
