The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry turned out to be pretty one-sided. The Bulldogs looked great on offense, defense and special teams, and with the win they clinched the SEC East title and will travel to Atlanta later this season for a chance to win the SEC Championship. It will be the second time in team's history that the Dawgs will be going to back-to-back SEC Championships. They first did it in 2002 with a win and 2003 with a loss. Before the SEC Championship begins, they will face two in-state rivals. Here's a look at the past, present and future when it comes to the Bulldogs.
So for all you passionate fans, here are some more notes, nuggets and tidbits of information all things Georgia Bulldogs, statistically speaking of course. For the most complete information on a specific upcoming game please check out the individual sport and game you are looking for on www.georgiadogs.com and for even more statistical insights you can follow me on twitter @dave_mc_stats.
And now for the extra stuff...
Football ---
With the victory over Auburn, Georgia has now tied the overall series with the Tigers. The series is knotted up at 54-54-8. That's as close as it gets. The series used to be close in total points scored as well. In fact through games through 2010, Georgia only had a 38-point edge in the series. Then in 2011, Georgia defeated Auburn 45-7, or an additional 38 points. This season, Georgia won 38-0 or, once again, a total of 38 points.
It was the first shut-out by the Bulldogs since a win against Coastal Carolina last season, and it was the first against a SEC team since the win against Vanderbilt in 2010. It was also the first shutout against Auburn since 1976. Overall, the Bulldogs have posted seven shutouts under Mark Richt, and the 4th straight season with a shutout. Here is a look on how many shutouts each head coach at Georgia has had since 1939.
| Mark Richt | 7 shutouts |
| Jim Donnan | 2 |
| Ray Goff | 2 |
| Vince Dooley | 30 |

He now has 10 ½ sacks on the season which is the 2nd highest total in the SEC this season behind Mississippi State's Damontre Moore. Jones had 13 ½ sacks last season for the Dawgs. Both Collin Barber and Adam Erickson have been outstanding as of late. In the last game, Barber punted the ball four times and three times the football was downed inside the 20-yard line. Erickson punted once and that too was downed inside the 20. Even better, three of those kicks were downed inside the 5-yard line. On the season, Barber has landed punts inside the twenty 14 times in 46 punts this season and Erickson has done it 5 times in 8 punts. Throughout his career at Georgia, former Ray Guy Award winner Drew Butler booted 60 of his 167 punts inside the 20. And now for the extra stuff...

The Lady Bulldogs have started off the new season with an impressive 2-0 record. One player that is new to most Georgia fans is freshman Shacobia Barbee. She went to Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. While in high school she racked up 468 career steals. So in Georgia's first game, it was surprising to see she had zero steals in 21 minutes against Rutgers. Her second game was a little different. Barbee had a team-high 5 steals against Presbyterian.
