Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer recently made a donation of $60,000 to the St. Mary's Foundation at St. Mary's Hospital to help in the fight against breast cancer in the Athens area.

The funds were raised in part through the Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer Golf Tournament at The Georgia Club in July. Coach Mark Richt and several Bulldogs participated in the tournament.

The event was organized by the family of former Bulldog lineman Chris Abbott, whose mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. As a result, the Abbott family made a commitment to help raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research.

Proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk to Find A Cure and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
