Georgia vs Florida! No matter whether you call the game what we all used to call it or if you don't, this game is always big. So what if neither team is ranked... it is Florida and that is all that matters! If you can't get up for this game, you must not be a true fan. Besides identical records, both Georgia and Florida come into the game very equal in other areas. Both teams have had way too many injuries, way too many calls called against them and some struggles on the field. So it may come down to which team makes the least amount of mistakes and the Bulldog Nation can help in making the Gators make more. Speaking of more, that is what I do.

So for all you passionate fans, here are some more notes, nuggets and tidbits of information all things Georgia Bulldogs, statistically speaking of course. For the most complete information on a specific upcoming game please check out the individual sport and game you are looking for on www.georgiadogs.com and for even more statistical insights you can follow me on twitter @dave_mc_stats.

FOOTBALL ---

In a stat that I have done several times already this season, the Bulldogs have a chance to reach a milestone in victories against an opponent. So far, Georgia is 49-40-2 against Florida although the Gators do not count the 1904 meeting. If the Bulldogs win on Saturday it will mark the 5th team in which the Dawgs have at least 50 wins against. Here are all those teams.

Georgia Tech63 wins
Auburn54 wins
Vanderbilt53 wins
Kentucky52 wins

Mark Richt has four victories against Florida as head coach. Currently he is 4th place by Georgia head coaches. Here are the head coaches with more than one victory.

Vince Dooley17 wins
Wally Butts12 wins
Harry Mehre6 wins
Mark Richt4 wins
W.A. Cunningham3 wins
Kid Woodruff2 wins

If the Dawgs win, that would be three straight in the series. It would be the first time that they have won three straight since 1987 to 1989. Here are the longest winning streaks in the series against Florida.

7 wins1904-1927
7 wins1941-1948
6 wins1931-1936
6 wins1978-1983
3 wins1974-1976
3 wins1987-1989

Everyone knows the game is played in Jacksonville and it has been played in Athens and in Gainesville before. Do you know it has been played in other sites as well? Here are the other sites.

Macon, Georgia1904
Tampa, Florida1919
Savannah, Georgia1928 and 1930

Aaron Murray once again has another chance in breaking the SEC all-time touchdown pass mark. He currently has 112 touchdown passes which is two shy of the record. Here is a list of players that have caught touchdown passes thrown by Murray and how many.

I mentioned last week that Aaron Murray currently leads the Bulldogs in touchdown rushes. The last two quarterbacks to lead Georgia in touchdown passes and touchdown rushes in the same season were D.J. Shockley and Andy Johnson. Shockley had 24 TD passes and 4 TD rushes. The 4 actually tied for the team lead with Thomas Brown. Andy Johnson came to rescue by having 6 TD passes and 6 TD rushes in 1973. Thanks to the Sports Communication Department with this information.

SOCCER ---

Steve Holeman gets a crack at Florida before Mark Richt does this week. The soccer team plays its home finale against the Gators this Thursday. Last week Georgia had a great weekend. On Friday they defeated LSU 2-1 in Baton Rouge and then on Sunday they won 1-0 in Fayetteville. That gives them 5 wins on the road this season. Five seems to be a magic number for Georgia when it comes to road wins. Although 7 is the team record which they set in 2011, 5 road wins is what they have done a lot including their first season. Here are the seasons in which they have 5 road wins in their history.

19955-2-3 record
20035-3-0 record
20075-0-1 record
20085-3-1 record
20095-2-0 record
20105-3-1 record
20135-2-1 record

VOLLEYBALL ---

Behind Jasmine Eatmon and her great defense, the Georgia volleyball team won twice over last week. I already mentioned the thrilling 3-2 victory over Kentucky, but they had another win on Sunday against Mississippi State by the same 3-2 score. That makes 4 wins this season in matches that went a full five sets (they also have wins against LSU and Ole Miss.) The 4 wins is tied for the 2nd most since the turn of the century. Here is a breakdown in 5-set victories since the 2000 season.

20134 wins20061 win
20123 wins20053 wins
20112 wins20044 wins
20102 wins20033 wins
20094 wins20025 wins
20084 wins20012 wins
20073 wins20003 wins

Georgia travels to Knoxville for a bout against Tennessee on Sunday. Eatmon was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore had 13 blocks including 6 against Kentucky. She became the first Bulldog to win that award since Valentina Gonzalez won it in 2010.

MEN's GOLF ---

Joey Garber posted a 9-under 207 at The Invitational at the Ocean Course in Kiawah, South Carolina. The score was enough the win the tournament. It was the first career win for the senior from Petoskey, Michigan. On Monday, Garber was dominant shooting 10 birdies. He has three top-fives this fall, but none bigger than the win. Overall the team finished in third place. Thirty-seven Bulldogs have won tournaments under Chris Haack including several on the current team. Here are the members that have won at least one tournament.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope made his professional debut on Wednesday. The Detroit Pistons shooting guard finished with 9 points on 4-for-12 shooting. He added 2 assists and 2 steals. The greatest NBA player that was a former Bulldog is Dominique Wilkins. The Human Highlight Film finished his first game with 23 points against of all teams, the Detroit Pistons. Here is how other notable Bulldogs did in the NBA debut.

BULLDOGS IN THE NFL ---

Dannell Ellerbe had a team-high 11 tackles last week for the Dolphins. Ellerbe may be new to Miami, but he is not new to tackles. Currently he is tied for the team lead with 51 tackles with Philip Wheeler. Ellerbe has played one less game than Wheeler this season. Overall Ellerbe is 3rd in the NFL in tackles by former Bulldogs. Here are the top five.

Thomas DavisPanthers54 tackles
Alec OgletreeRams54 tackles
Dannell EllerbeDolphins51 tackles
Reshad JonesDolphins48 tackles
Akeem DentFalcons35 tackles

Matthew Stafford had a day to remember against the Cowboys. The Lions signal caller was 33-48 passing for 488 yards. He added a touchdown pass and an incredible touchdown run off a fake spike with 12 seconds left to help give Detroit the victory. The 488 is a lot, but not his personal best. Here is his top five as a NFL quarterback (two of them happened exactly three years apart.)

1/1/2012 vs Packers520 yards
10/27/2013 vs Cowboys488 yards
12/22/2012 vs Falcons443 yards
11/22/2012 vs Texans441 yards
