ATHENS, Ga. ----- The seventh-ranked Georgia Bulldogs continued preparations for their upcoming Southeastern Conference showdown with No. 25 Missouri.

The Bulldogs (4-1, 3-0 SEC) worked out in jerseys, shoulder pads and shorts for two hours, and Georgia coach Mark Richt said he was pleased with the practice especially with how the receivers are looking.

"They are doing fine, and I'm pleased with their assignments," Richt said.

Richt mentioned senior receiver Michael Erdman and redshirt freshman receiver Blake Tibbs are seeing more time in practice after Georgia's depth at that spot has taken a hit due to injuries. On Tuesday, it was announced that junior Michael Bennett and Justin Scott-Wesley had knee surgery. Scott-Wesley, along with junior flanker Malcolm Mitchell, who was injured in the season opener against Clemson, are out for the year while Bennett could return by the Florida game on Nov. 2, according to Richt.

"Erdman and Tibbs will know what to do and that's a start," Richt added. "It's not like they are true freshmen we're throwing in there. They've got an opportunity now. There's a difference between capability and dependability. When you become dependable, you earn the trust of your coaches."

The Tigers (5-0, 1-0 SEC) will be making their first visit to Athens, and it will be only the third meeting in the history of the series. Georgia holds a 2-0 edge, winning the 1960 Orange Bowl over the Tigers 14-0 in Miami, and it posted a 41-20 victory last year in Columbia. It marked Missouri's inaugural SEC game.

Missouri ranks second in the SEC in scoring (46.6 points/game), leads the conference in rushing (258.8 yards/game) and is tied for the league lead with a +5 turnover margin.

Kickoff for Saturday's contest at Sanford Stadium is set for 12:01 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
