ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia senior quarterback Aaron Murray has been named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week after his team’s 44-41 win over #6 LSU.

Murray has also been named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week, the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the Athlon Sports National Player of the Week and the College Football Performance Awards National Performer of the Week following Georgia’s third win of the year.

All 125 FBS quarterbacks are candidates for the Davey O’Brien award until semifinalists are announced on Nov. 4.  Finalists will be announced Nov. 25 and the 2013 Davey O'Brien winner will be announced on Dec. 12.

Murray, a native of Tampa, Fla., went 20-for-34 for 298 yards and four touchdowns while also adding a rushing score.  He connected with Justin Scott-Wesley for a game-winning 25-yard touchdown at the 1:47 mark in the final quarter.

Picking up victories over two top-10 teams in the last three games, Murray moved into the No. 2 spot in school history for career passing yardage at 11,429 (former Bulldog David Greene holds the school and SEC records at 11,528).  Murray now also has 11,659 yards of total offense, which is also No. 2 in SEC history.

The sixth-ranked Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0 SEC) travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face Tennessee (3-2, 0-1) on Oct. 5.  CBS will televise Georgia’s game at 3:30 p.m. ET for the second consecutive week.
