Bulldogs Continue Preparations For LSU
Coach Mark Richt

Sept. 24, 2013

ATHENS-----The Georgia football team continued preparations for Saturday's home game against LSU with a two and a half hour workout at the Woodruff Practice Fields Tuesday. It was the second straight day the Bulldogs practiced in full pads.

Earlier in the day, head coach Mark Richt led the Bulldogs' weekly press conference and discussed the matchup with LSU.

"It's without question a huge game for us and a huge game for LSU," Richt said. "We have an awful lot of respect for LSU, even more respect after watching them on TV last Saturday night. They look as good as ever."

Georgia's assistant coaches answered questions from the media following the practice. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham discussed the challenge of defending LSU's balanced attack.

"They do a good job in both the run and the pass," Grantham said. "They have some backs that can get downhill. They set up the play action pass off the run game, and when you can do both equally well it makes it difficult."

Saturday's game features the third and fourth ranked scoring offenses in the SEC. LSU averages 43.2 points per game, while Georgia averages 40.3 points per game.

This will be the 30th all-time meeting between Georgia and LSU, with the Tigers holding a 16-12-1 edge. The Tigers have won the last two meetings, including the 2011 SEC Championship Game and a matchup in Athens in 2009. However, Georgia won three consecutive games prior to the 2009 game.

Saturday's game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by CBS. Also, ESPN College GameDay will broadcast from Athens starting at 9 a.m.
