Athens, Ga. -- In advance of the Bulldogs' sold-out game against North Texas this Saturday, The University of Georgia Athletic Association would like to encourage all fans to take advantage of the new electronic ticketing system in place at Sanford Stadium this season.
All reserved seat tickets are bar-coded and will be scanned for entry at all gates. UGA Student tickets will continue to be loaded onto their UGA ID Card and only accepted at Gates 1, 3 and 4A. The new ticketing system will improve the gameday experience at Sanford Stadium along with providing fans new and exciting benefits. One of the new features is that season and single game ticket holders will be able to transfer tickets electronically to other fans online, without fees. Transferring of tickets will be easier than ever and eliminate the need to meet up or stand in will-call lines to pick up or drop off tickets on gamedays.
"As we saw in our last home game, a sold-out Sanford Stadium can provide a great gameday atmosphere and give our coaches and student-athletes the support needed to succeed," Director of Athletics Greg McGarity said, "We're looking forward to another great crowd and atmosphere this Saturday against North Texas. Also, in the event any of our ticket holders are unable to attend this Saturday's game, we hope they will get their tickets in the hands of others utilizing our new online ticket transfer system or just giving them to other Bulldog fans."
In addition to new ticketing system, the bottomless souvenir fountain drink and popcorn bucket program was a very popular part of the gameday experience. The University of Georgia Athletic Association would like to remind all fans the free refills are only redeemable for the game they are purchased and will not be allowed to be brought back in per UGA Athletic Association event management policies prohibiting all beverage and food containers upon entry to Sanford Stadium.
Also, fans can seek relief from the warm temperatures at misting stations located near Gates 2, 7 and 10.
