ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs practiced for just over two hours in shoulder pads and shorts on Tuesday as they close in on this weekend's season opener against No. 16 Clemson.

On Monday, head coach Mark Richt announced the captains for the Bulldogs' date with the Tigers, including center David Andrews. Following Tuesday's practice, offensive line coach Will Friend talked about the qualities which helped Andrews earn his role as a captain.

"David is a good leader and a tough kid," Friend said. "He's what you want as far as a player doing things the right way. He works hard to get better every day. He's been a good player for us for three years and has steadily gotten better. He got better this spring. This fall camp, he's better than he was a year ago. He's constantly improving because he works every day to get better."

Earlier on Tuesday, Richt and several players met with the media as part of Georgia's traditional game-week media luncheon.

"It is a game we have been looking forward to for a long time. I know our fans are looking forward to it," Richt said. "I am looking forward to see what the Dawg Walk looks like. I am looking forward to see our students show us what they got, by getting there early and really cheering our boys on during pregame warm ups. I am also looking forward to our fans wearing red and getting after it and creating enough noise that we can hopefully disrupt some of the things they are trying to do offensively. It is going to take everybody and our fans are going to be a huge part of it."

The Dawg Walk will be at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Kickoff "between the hedges" has been set for 5:36 p.m., and the contest will be televised by ESPN.
