ATHENS, Ga. --- As the Georgia Bulldog football team prepares for its season opening clash with seventh ranked Boise State in the Georgia Dome, the Athletic Association is asking Bulldogs everywhere to "Spread the Red" in an effort to unify the Bulldog Nation on Saturday, September 3, 2011. All fans, whether attending the game in the Georgia Dome or supporting the Dawgs from home, are encouraged to wear red on game day. Georgia will be sporting a new Nike Pro Combat uniform for the Boise State game that features a red jersey and red game pants.
"We already know that there will be a large number of Georgia fans in the Dome to support us. What would be awesome is to have every one of them wearing red to help create a great atmosphere and help energize our football team," says Head Coach Mark Richt.
Fans are also encouraged the week of the game to participate in the Spread the Red campaign on Georgia's official facebook page - facebook.com/georgiabulldogs. All fans that "like" the page and submit photos are registered to win Nike Gear and the fan with the best photo wins a Nike Pro Combat replica jersey and helmet, as well as the limited edition receiver gloves that the Bulldogs will wear in the game.
Georgia Football would love to see the State of Georgia turn solid red in support of the Dawgs! So whether you are watching the game in the Georgia Dome or at home, help Spread the Red and wear red in support of the Dogs. Georgia fans can find officially licensed red Georgia products at local retailers or online at the G Shop on Georgiadogs.com.
