ATHENS, Ga. -- Fans attending home football games during the 2013 will notice a new ticket scanning system at Sanford Stadium, beginning with the home opener versus South Carolina.
All reserved seat tickets are bar-coded and will be scanned for entry at all gates. UGA Student tickets will continue to be loaded onto their UGA ID Card and only accepted at Gates 1, 3 and 4A.
The new ticketing system will improve the gameday experience at Sanford Stadium along with providing fans new and exciting benefits.
One of the new features is that season and single game ticket holders will be able to transfer tickets electronically to other fans online, without fees. Transferring of tickets will be easier than ever and eliminate the need to meet up or stand in will-call lines to pick up or drop off tickets on gamedays.
The new integrated ticketing system with StubHub!, the official fan to fan marketplace of the Georgia Bulldogs, also allows fans the opportunity to buy and sell tickets in a safe and secure manner.
Tomorrow, all football season and single game ticket holders will be sent an email with details on how use the new ticketing system through your online UGA Athletics ticket account. For more information on the new ticketing system, fans also can visit online or call the Athletic Association ticket office 877-542-1231.
The University of Georgia Athletic Association encourages fans to arrive early at the gates for all home games, beginning with the South Carolina game as this will be our first game using the new ticket scanning system.
