AT&T Enhances Gameday Mobile Internet Coverage in Sanford Stadium
Paul Chambers from AT&T talks about the enhancements made, and where the antennas have been installed in Sanford Stadium.
Aug. 6, 2014
The Georgia Bulldogs will open the 2014 season in a Top 20 battle against Clemson in Sanford Stadium on Saturday, August 30. Here are a few new things the Bulldog Nation can look forward to when attending games 'tween the hedges this season.
A new sound system has been installed to improve sound quality in all areas of the stadium.
The SEC amended its bylaw related to institutionally-controlled sound systems. Under the revised policy, the SEC will permit the use of institutionally-controlled, computerized sound systems (including music), institutionally-controlled artificial noisemakers, and traditional institutional noisemakers at any time, except from the time the offensive center is over the football until the play is whistled dead. We will always respect the collegiate atmosphere and traditions in our efforts to create a great Gameday for all in attendance.
DAS - Telephone Services
Phone carriers have installed a DAS (Distributive Antenna System) which will improve the fans' ability to make phone calls, send text messages and connect to their provider's 4G or LTE network.
Televisions have been upgraded to flat screens in an effort to improve the viewing quality while in line on gamedays.
Additional points of sale have been added in the following locations to serve bottle beverages.
Concessions pricing on some items has been rounded to .00 or .50 in an effort to speed up transactions and shrink time in line.
Additional registers and credit/debit card terminals have been installed throughout all levels of the stadium.
Partnerships with several name-brand vendors add variety to our menus at the following locations inside the stadium:
Misting Tents/Cooling Stations
Misting tents will be available for fans at Gates 7, 10 and Reed Plaza at the following home games:
100 Level Concourse
Partitions previously located at the top of each section in the 100 Level have been removed to allow for better sightlines and more light into the concourse area.
Stadium seatbacks will be available for lease as a full season package of $55 until August 30. On gamedays only and subject to availability, seatbacks can be leased for $8 on a single game basis.
Brand new for the 2014 season is the MVP Seatback available for all seats located in the Club Level sections of Sanford Stadium.
Season packages can be ordered www.ugabulldogseats.com or by calling 1-866-910-9293.
On gamedays, fans wanting to lease seatbacks for a single game or season and needing assistance with their seatbacks, can visit any of the customer service locations at Gates 2, 6, 7, 9 and Section 222.
Merchandise Sales Locations
Sanford Shops will feature officially licensed merchandise and be located near Section 101 on field level, Gates 2, 6, 7 and 9 and in Reed Plaza. An additional stand will be located outside the stadium on Sanford Drive Bridge and will be open pregame and postgame.

The Circle of Honor is designed to recognize and pay tribute to extraordinary student-athletes and coaches who by their performance and conduct have brought honor to the university and themselves, and who by their actions have contributed to the tradition of the Georgia Bulldogs. The criteria also stipulate that each recipient has earned his or her academic degree.
