Reggie Wilkerson

June 14, 2013

ATHENS --- University of Georgia freshman defensive back Reggie Wilkerson underwent a procedure to repair his meniscus in his right knee on Friday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens.

Wilkerson, a native of Ocala, Fla., sustained the injury to his knee in one of the Bulldogs’ voluntary pass drills with his teammates earlier this week.  He will undergo a second surgical procedure at a later date to reconstruct his ACL.

According to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Ron Courson, Wilkerson will be medically redshirted for the 2013 football season and have four remaining years of eligibility.  Wilkerson is expected to make a full recovery.

Wilkerson enrolled at UGA in January 2013.
