Georgia Football Returns To Work After Spring Break

March 19, 2013

ATHENS, Ga. --- Following the University of Georgia's spring break week, the Bulldogs returned to practice under cloudless skies on Tuesday afternoon.

Georgia worked out for two hours during their the team's fourth practice of the spring.  Starting with another session on Thursday, there are eight practices left before the annual spring G-Day game on April 6.  There are also another two final practices the week after G-Day.

After practice, Bulldog head coach Mark Richt was pleased with his team's performance as the spring sessions resumed.

"Both sides of the ball competed hard today and the offense ended up winning 4-2," said Richt.  "I though it was an overall good day today.  This was the first time we tackled out there so it was nice to get some contact going.  I thought we practiced with a solid set of fundamentals and it ended up being a physical practice.  Not too bad for being the first practice back after spring break."

Both quarterback Hutson Mason and tight end Ty Flournoy-Smith sat out of practice will illnesses on Tuesday.  Sophomore tackle John Theus and senior linebacker Chase Vasser are continuing to recover from January surgeries and are able to do limited running.

The Bulldogs start the season on the road versus Clemson on August 31.  Georgia's Southeastern Conference opener is against South Carolina in Sanford Stadium on September 7.
