BULLDOGS IN THE NFL: PLAYOFFS ROUND 2
Heading into the NFL's conference title games, there are four former Bulldogs on teams still alive. Georgia is guaranteed to have at least one player reach the Super Bowl, which will extend the school's streak to 12 straight seasons — the all-time best mark in program history.
Champ Bailey, CB, Denver Broncos
Bailey came off the bench at cornerback in the Broncos' 24-17 win over San Diego. Bailey tied for the team lead with four tackles. Bailey and Broncos will face New England on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game. Bailey, who has been in the NFL since 1999, will be seeking his first appearance in the Super Bowl.
Chris Clemons, DE, Seattle Seahawks
Clemons started at defensive end in Seattle's 23-15 victory over New Orleans. Clemons registered two tackles. Clemons and the Seahawks will take on San Francisco Sunday in the NFC Championship Game.
Thomas Davis, LB, Carolina Panthers
Davis started at linebacker in Carolina's 23-10 loss to San Francisco. Davis posted eight tackles and two quarterback hurries.
Demarcus Dobbs, TE/DT, San Francisco 49ers
Dobbs came off the bench at defensive tackle in the 49ers' 23-10 win over Carolina. He registered one quarterback pressure. Dobbs and the 49ers will take on Seattle in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
Kwame Geathers, DT, San Diego Chargers
Geathers did not play in San Diego's 24-17 loss to Denver.
John Jenkins, DT, New Orleans Saints
Jenkins came off the bench in the Saints' 23-15 loss to Seattle. Jenkins finished the game with one sack.
Charles Johnson, DE, Carolina Panthers
Johnson started at defensive end in the Panthers' 23-10 loss to San Francisco. Johson posted three tackles, including two tackles for loss.
Tavarres King, WR, Carolina Panthers
King was not active in the Panthers' 23-10 loss to San Francisco.
Knowshon Moreno, RB, Denver Broncos
Moreno started at tailback in the Broncos' 24-17 win over San Diego. Moreno paced Denver with 23 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. He also caught one pass for 12 yards. Moreno and the Broncos will take on New England Sunday in the AFC Championship Game.
Ben Watson, TE, New Orleans Saints
Watson started at tight end in the Saints' 23-15 loss to Seattle. Watson had one reception for no gain.
