![]() ![]() 07![]() 35No. 5 Georgia Dropped By No. 6 South Carolina, 35-7In a battle of undefeated Top-10 teams with SEC and NCAA Championship aspirations No. 5 Georgia fell short against No. 6 South Carolina, 35-7, in Columbia, S.C. Georgia found itself in a hole early trailing 21-0 in the first quarter. The Gamecocks scored on their first drive when QB Connor Shaw found Bruce Ellington for a 20-yard touchdown. On Georgia's ensuing drive, Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray's pass found it's way into the hands of South Carolina's D. Holloman. South Carolina turned the turnover into another touchdown when Shaw connected with Rory Anderson for a 14-yard score. The Gamecocks finished their first quarter scoring with a 70-yard punt return by Ace Sanders. South Carolina added rushing TDs from Marcus Lattimore and Shaw in the second half. Georgia's Ken Malcome staved off the shutout with a 3-yard score with 1:55 to go in the game. Georgia will have a week off to rebound before traveling to Lexington, Ky. to take on the Wildcats.
