Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt

Opening Statement...

"In the moment of truth, we took care of business. That had to be fun for America to watch and for our fans to watch. You don't get many opportunities like that and have it come out the way it did. It's been an emotional day for me, for the players and coaches, for the fans. We knew it would take everything we had in this game. Everything was so crucial. I'm just humbled and thankful to be the head coach here and be able to enjoy what happened here today. I thought it would be a knock-down, drag-out fight. I didn't think we'd be able to slow down their run like we did."

On Georgia's play today...

"We blocked pretty well. We ran blocked well and we pass protected well. And our defensive line had four sacks and seven tackles for loss. The line of scrimmage was won by Georgia today. That was big. When you block and protect well, you have confidence you can move and score the way we did. Aaron (Murray) was phenomenal. He kept answering every score with another great play or throw. He played so well...he did super."

On Marshall Morgan's 55-yard field goal...

"The wind was blowing in that direction and (Marshall Morgan) had hit a 65-yarder in pregame, so I knew he had enough leg. It was a great snap, hold and protection, and he drilled it."

On the team's outlook moving forward...

"We've still got a long way to go, that's for sure. We're not 100 percent solid in all areas. We've got to make some improvements. But I know we will keep fighting. I am proud of them."

On his emotions following the game...

"I can't thank the fans enough. I almost had a dream of this, a vision of this, that it would come down to this. And I knew we needed the fans. I'm glad they got to enjoy something like this."

QB Aaron Murray

On the game...

"That was awesome. I'm so proud of the entire team and how we came out today. It's been a tough start to the season, playing three top 10 teams in our first four games, and I am so proud of the way our team has gotten through it. We knew that today was going to be a fight, and we were up to it."

TB Keith Marshall

On Georgia's play...

"I think that we have a lot of offensive playmakers. We have a great offensive line. People stepped up today and we finished. It was a full team effort."

On moving forward...

"We have a long season ahead, and we just have to keep it going. We can't look past anyone. We've only played four games, and we need to stay focused and get back to work."

PK Marshall Morgan

On his 55-yard kick...

"I hit a 27-yarder earlier in the game, and I think that gave me some confidence. When I went out to kick from 55 yards, I knew I had it. [Nathan Theus] and [Adam Erickson] executed great, and I hit it well...I knew when I hit it that it was good."

ILB Amarlo Herrera

On the defense

"We have to keep getting better. We have some good players and everyone has played well this season and we just need to put it together. I'm proud of the way that the defense stepped up at the end of the game."

On the last drive...

"It was all about the pressure. We were getting to [Mettenberger] and it was making him uncomfortable. After [Leonard Floyd] sacked him, we were all feeding off of it. We were able to rush [Mettenberger] and it caused him to make some bad throws there at the end."

OLB Leonard Floyd

On his late sack...

"I told coach before that drive that I was ready to make a play, and that's what I did. He told us before we went out to pin our ears back and get after it. It was a great feeling."

LSU Head Coach Les Miles

Opening Statement...

"Congratulations to Georgia. They did a good job tonight and have a very good football team. We were a mistake or two away from winning that game, which was a tremendously competitive game. There are a lot of things that we can correct that will make us a lot better."

On how the game played out...

"I felt like Zach performed great and that is exactly what we needed him to do. We did not get the rushing yards that we would have liked. Defensively, we have to play better. The secondary cannot give up those big plays, and we have to rush the passer. There are some things that we need to work on. As quality of a return man as Odell Beckham is, I know that he would like to get that muffed punt back. That being said, when you play a quality team on the road, you can't afford to give them anything like that. I think this team is improving, and we can certainly take this film and instruct the change.

On LSU's defense...

"We have some young guys that we want to put on the field; guys that are very talented. They have to play coverage over a variety of calls and coverages, and its got to work. If we do that, we'll be fine."

On Zach Mettenberger's play...

"I want you to know something, Zach came in here to play quarterback for the Tigers and to try and lead his team to victory. And that is what he did. Was he perfect? No, but he was good. We like him as our quarterback."

On the last drive...

"Frankly, I figured we had enough time. They scored too early in my mind. There is some film I want to look at on that last drive."

On where the team stands...

"We are a good football team. We can prove that we can fulfill the goals that we have, I think everything is in front of us. The great thing about losing to an Eastern Division team is that there are examples of what we need to do to accomplish our goals."

WR Kadron Boone

On his offensive performance...

"We knew it was going to be a dogfight coming in. We already knew coming into the game coaches were going to try and take away Jarvis and Odell, so I just had to be patient, wait my turn, and make the best of my opportunities."

Oh how confident the LSU offense was on its final drive...

"We were real confident. We run these situations every day. We failed to communicate a few times, so we have a few things we need to take care of. We correct those and we'll come out with a victory."

LB Lamin Barrow

On the loss...

"This is a tough loss. Not that many teams have put up that many points up on this defense in a long time. I'm not going to dwell on it too long, though, we got Mississippi State next week so we've got to move on to the next game."

On the LSU secondary...

"We had some trouble getting the calls in and called the wrong calls sometimes. Just a little bit of miscommunication but something that we go over in practice over and over. It's something that we should be able to adapt to by now, but we got to keep working on it."

QB Zach Mettenberger...

On his team's mentality entering the final drive...

"It was just like every other drive, go down and score and put ourselves in the best position to win the game. Unfortunately we weren't able to connect on a few more passes there at the end, but Georgia came in with a big game plan and played well."

On his mindset coming back to Athens...

"It was just another game. We didn't put too much stock into it. For myself and my teammates it was just another game for us. It's just tough that we have to deal with this loss and go on the road to Mississippi State."
