Georgia Post-Game Quotes

Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt

Opening Statement...

"The offense really did a good job -- running the ball, passing the ball, pass protecting. Other than the turnovers that were alarming, it was a good output by the offense. ... When you get that type of output, you're executing and doing some very good things. If we can keep from shooting ourselves in the foot with turnovers and penalties, we've got a chance to be good on offense."

On the Georgia team...

"I think we've got ability, we've got good team unity, but I still think we have a ways to go to really play sharp, to play lights out. We'll keep making corrections as we go. You never play a perfect game, but if we keep improving, that will be a great thing for Georgia."

On Aaron Murray...

"Aaron was very accurate and his stats are pretty sporty. It was a group effort with protection and with route running, but Aaron really delivered the mail tonight."

On being 3-0...

"It's great to be 3-0. We're looking forward to getting back in league play and I'm glad we'll be at home. We're facing a Vanderbilt team that we know is outstanding. They will be ready to come after us. They're fighting for their lives in league play, so we've got to be ready."

Sophomore Linebacker Amarlo Herrera

"We were having some communication issues at the beginning of the game so once we were able to come in to the locker room at half time, we could sit down and figure out what we needed to do differently in the second half."

Senior Nose Guard John Jenkins

"As a defensive player, you don't like to see some of the stats [that we gave up today], but its important to look at the bigger picture...we got the W."

"We came in at halftime and regrouped and were back playing the kind of defense we were used to in the second half."

Freshman Tailback Keith Marshall

"We were running well. It all starts with the offensive line. They did a great job...it all started with them. Everyone was making big plays."

"We executed well and will have some momentum from this to build off of, but we have to get back to practice this week and work to get better."

Junior Tight End Arthur Lynch

"We were clicking today and played well. I think today shows the potential that we have on the offensive side of the ball."

"I had a feeling that I was in, but just had to wait it out. Aaron threw a great ball and the blockers helped me get to the end zone."

Junior Quarterback Aaron Murray

"It was a great game and a great week of practice. We had great focus all week too. We played like we knew we could and executed the plays that were called."

Florida Atlantic Post-Game Quotes

Florida Atlantic Head Coach Carl Pelini

On the execution...

"I think we can execute at a high level every week, but you have to remember where we are. We only have so many bullets in the gun. We were still executing and blocking late in the game, and I think we can use this to improve. Two or three years down the road we will have more offense to go to, so I'm not worried about that. I think our backs did a great job and were able to make some plays."

On William Dukes...

"We pinned a lot of hopes on Dukes making plays this season, but he is still young. As long as he stays healthy, we think he will continue to make plays for us in big-time situations."

On the effect of the environment...

"To be honest I didn't mention the word Georgia until last night. Whether we were 2-0 or 0-2, I am big believer in treating every game the same way. We have to prepare every week like it's the biggest game of the year, otherwise you have peaks and valleys. I think we will get better and I am optimistic that we can continue to improve as we go through the rest of the season."

Senior Quarterback Graham Wilbert

"We came out pretty sharp in the first half, and we really played well against a good SEC team. But the second half was a completely different ballgame. We didn't execute as well as we did in the first half, and we just didn't get it done."

Redshirt Sophomore Running Back Damian Fortner

"The first half was fun. We were in this game. We were executing and doing our thing. You never come into a game expecting to lose. Georgia is a good team but we came to play and we're not happy coming away with a loss."
