Brandon Wheeling, a native of Dallas, Ga., and graduate of Paulding County HS, was named the program coordinator on defense for the University of Georgia's coaching staff during the spring of 2012.
Wheeling originally joined the Bulldogs as a student assistant in 2011 and worked with the defense. He is now pursuing a Master's degree in Sport Pedagogy.
Wheeling started for two seasons at defensive end for the University of West Georgia during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. He transferred to Georgia in the spring of 2008.
Wheeling was named the Most Outstanding Walk-On following spring practice in 2009 and earned a scholarship with Georgia for the following season. The SEC Academic Honor Roll member played in nine of 12 games in 2009. After his playing career, Wheeling coached the defensive line at Barnwell High School in South Carolina during the 2010 season.
Wheeling earned All-Region honors at Paulding County High School before starting his career at West Georgia.
