A former wide receiver for the Bulldogs, Bryan McClendon was named running backs coach in February, 2009, after serving two years (2007-08) as a graduate assistant coach working with the Georgia offense. He was named Recruiting Coordinator in 2014.

Since joining the full time staff, Georgia teams have won 44 games and two SEC Eastern Division titles. He's been part of an offensive staff that has led Georgia to two consecutive record-setting seasons: Total Yards in a Season (6,547 in 2012 and 6,294 in 2013); Average Yards Per Game (484.2 in `13 and 467.64 in `12); and Most TD's in a Season (72 in 2012 and 58 in `13).

In 2012, he coached one of the country's most dynamic freshman tailback tandems in Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. Gurley was a consensus Freshman All-America and All-SEC selection after rushing for 1,385 yards and 17 TD's--second best in the SEC. Marshall added 759 yards and eight TD's.

In 2011, he coached SEC Freshman of the Year tailback Isaiah Crowell.

He was a four-year letterman with the Bulldogs (2002-05) and his senior class won 44 games--most by any class in Georgia history. During his tenure, the Bulldogs won three Southeastern Conference Eastern Division titles (2002, '03, '05), two SEC championships (2002, '05), and played in four bowl games (2003 Nokia Sugar, '04 Capital One, '05 Outback, '06 Nokia Sugar), winning three of them.

McClendon's career blossomed in 2005, when the Bulldogs won the SEC championship. The Atlanta, Ga., native caught 35 passes, six going for touchdowns. He caught the game-winning TD pass in the closing minutes against Georgia Tech, and then blocked a punt in the SEC Championship game, which led to the Bulldogs' third TD in the 34-14 victory over LSU.

Following his Georgia career, McClendon signed a free agent contract with the NFL's Chicago Bears.

He graduated in December, 2005, with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. He is the son of former Georgia tailback Willie McClendon, 1978 SEC Player of the Year and running back for the Chicago Bears.

He is married to the former Amber Arnold of Atlanta, Ga. They have two children, Bryan, 7; and Brooke, 2.
