Mike Macdonald, a native of Roswell, Ga., and graduate of Centennial High School, was named a graduate assistant on defense for the University of Georgia's coaching staff following the 2011 spring practice.

Macdonald originally joined the Bulldogs as a student assistant in May of 2010. He helped coach and coordinate the offensive scout team throughout the 2010 season and also worked with outside linebackers. Macdonald's role shifted to working with inside linebackers during the 2011 spring practice.

Before arriving at UGA, Macdonald played football and baseball at Centennial and graduated in 2006.

Macdonald graduated summa cum laude from Georgia with a degree in Finance from the Terry College of Business with honors in May, 2010.
