John Kasay was brought out of a brief retirement in January 2011 to assist with the strength and conditioning program. Kasay had been part of the Bulldog family since he was a starting offensive guard on Vince Dooley's 1966 SEC and Cotton Bowl champion team.

Following graduation, he served as a graduate assistant coach, offensive assistant coach and director of strength and conditioning for the Bulldogs over the next three decades.

A native of Johnstown, Pa., he left the field and held roles as an academic counselor and facilities supervisor until his retirement in the summer of 2010. His son, John Kasay, Jr., was a Georgia kicker from 1987-90 and is still kicking for the NFL Carolina Panthers.

Kasay is married to the former Susan Weddle and they have a son, Paul Weddle and a daughter, Kaitlin Ray. In addition to John, Jr., he also has a daughter, Theresa Marie.
