ATHENS ---- The Georgia Bulldogs will play Indiana on Nov. 19 in the 2012 Legends Classic semifinal round in Brooklyn, N.Y., according to an announcement today by ESPN, which will televise all four games on its various channels.
The Georgia-Indiana matchup will tip off the semifinal doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. EST and will be shown live on ESPNU. It will precede the nightcap that features UCLA and Georgetown. The Hoosiers return four starters from their 27-win team of 2012 and have been tabbed by most early pollsters as the nation's No. 1 team heading into the 2013 season.
The championship round is slated to begin the following night with the consolation game at 7:30 p.m. and the finals to follow. All four games will be played in the brand-new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, home to the NBA's Brooklyn Nets.
Georgia returns four starters, led by Freshman All-SEC guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, from its 15-17 team of a year ago. Caldwell-Pope is the Bulldogs' top returning scorer (13.2 ppg) and rebounder (5.2 rpg). Junior forward Donte' Williams is the team's second-leading returnee in both categories (7.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg).
