2004-05 Season (Sophomore yr.)
  • Georgia's lone returning starter from last season, he'd started every game of his career until missing the Vanderbilt game Jan. 22 with a sprained ankle.
  • Suffered the injury in practice two days before the Vandy game and aggravated it in the USC game Feb. 5.
  • Surprisingly, he returned Feb. 19 and pumped in 15 points in a reserve's role against Auburn.
  • Went from a supporting player, surrounded by a senior-laden lineup, to a leading role in his second season.
  • SEC Player of the Week in mid-December, largely on the strength of his career-high 31 pts. in OT win over Ore. State.
  • Was also a member of the 2005 SEC "Good Works" team.
  • Returned as Georgia's most experienced collegian.
  • Matured immensely during his trial-by-error, learn-as-you-go freshman season.

    2003-04 Season (Freshman yr.)

  • Selected to the coaches' All-SEC Freshman team.
  • Easily the best, most productive member of Georgia's freshman class.
  • Became the first UGA freshman to start every game in his first year since Carlos Strong in the 1992-93 season.
  • His final scoring average of 9.5 points per game is the best by a UGA freshman since D.A. Layne ended the 1999 season with a 12.7 average.
  • Raised his average by 0.6 points after a season-high 25 points in SEC Tournament win over Auburn. First UGA player in five years to make eight 3-pointers in a game.
  • Ranked third among all freshman players in the SEC (behind LSU's Bass and Arkansas' Brewer) in both scoring (9.5 ppg) and playing time (30.1 mpg).
  • His eight treys in the Auburn win tied an SEC Tournament record and was one shy of Georgia's single-game mark, set in 1998 by G.G. Smith.
  • Those eight treys were twice as many as he'd made in any previous game. Made four 3-pointers in three other games: Florida A&M, as well as home contests against Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
  • Confidence grew as the season progressed, reaching its highest toward the postseason.
  • Even showed an ability to crash the boards on occasion, getting a season-high nine rebounds against Alabama.
  • Scored his then-season high of 18 points in the first (at Tenn.) and last (vs. Vandy) games of the SEC schedule.
  • Started at point guard as an emergency fill-in at Vanderbilt, when Rashad Wright was felled with an ankle injury.
  • Nine of his 12 points in Georgia's second win over Kentucky came in the 2nd half, all on 3-point shots.
  • His 43 minutes in the win over Georgia Tech were the most ever played by a freshman at UGA.
  • A solid 3-point shooter, one of his biggest came in the final minute of overtime against Gonzaga. It brought Georgia back within a single possession of the Zags.

    High School (Randallstown HS)

  • Two-time Baltimore County Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003, as voted by the county's coaches.
  • Averaged 24.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists as a senior at Randallstown, which went 22-2 and reached the Class 3A state semifinals in `03.
  • Averaged 27.9 points per game as a junior, 17.7 points as a sophomore, when Randallstown won the state championship in Class 3A.
  • During his four years as a letterman, Randallstown compiled an 85-8 overall record.
  • Played AAU basketball for the Baltimore Select program.
