ATHENS, GA.-----Nearly 300 Georgia Baseball season ticket holders and former lettermen attended the first ever Georgia Baseball Meet & Greet Thursday, November 14.
The event was held under the lights at Foley Field, where attendees were served a ballpark fare dinner, heard from The J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics, Greg McGarity; Executive Director of The Georgia Bulldog Club, Mark Slonaker; and first-year Head Coach, Scott Stricklin.
“You could feel the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season amongst the crowd,” said McGarity, “It’s great to know that our fans are as excited as we are internally about the new coaching staff. I think we’re in for a very exciting season of baseball.”
With Stricklin’s recent arrival at UGA, The Georgia Bulldog Club created an opportunity for Georgia Baseball fans and former student-athletes to get to know the new coach, his staff and some of the current student-athletes. A highlight of the evening included a guided tour of the complex with preview images for the Foley Field Revival fundraising efforts. Attendees also had an opportunity to renew or purchase season tickets a day ahead of the general public.
"I would like to thank all of our season ticket holders and former players that attended our meet and greet,” Stricklin said after the event. “It was great to see just how much excitement there is in this community for baseball. February 14th cannot get here soon enough!"
