ATHENS, Ga.... - Georgia's 2013-14 recruiting class is ranked No. 21 according to Baseball America, the national publication announced Tuesday.

Baseball America's top 25 recruiting class rankings are based on evaluations of college coaches and professional scouts across the country. The staff at Baseball America also utilized its individual player rankings among the BA 500 for the 2013 MLB draft. The rankings do not consider transfers from four-year schools, except graduate transfers who are immediately eligible.

Three student-athletes in this year's class were selected in the MLB First Year Player Draft this past June. Those Bulldogs include outfielder Stephen Wrenn (28th round, Atlanta), right-handed pitcher Robert Tyler (28th round, Baltimore) and shortstop Mike Bell (37th round, Miami). Along with the aforementioned freshmen, the publication included comments on left-handed pitchers Connor Jones and Ryan Lawlor, right-handed pitcher Jared Cheek, catcher Skyler Weber and first baseman Hunter Bening.

The Bulldogs had 14 newcomers in this year's recruiting class including 10 freshmen and four junior college transfers. Recently, Georgia concluded its fall practice. Opening day for the 2014 college baseball season is Friday, February 14.

The SEC led all conferences with nine schools in the Baseball America top 25 recruiting class rankings including four of the top 10.
