Currently, Georgia is 15-22 while Clemson enters the contest at 30-7. For the first time since Opening Weekend, the Tigers dropped a three-game series, losing 2-1 at No. 25 FSU. Clemson won the opener 12-10 and then dropped the next two contests 7-3 and 7-6. The Bulldogs were swept by #11 Arkansas this past weekend in Fayetteville.

Georgia will employ another staff night on the mound against Clemson with sophomore LHP Kevin Smith (1-4, 7.67 ERA) getting the start. The Tigers will counter with graduate transfer Tyler Jackson (5-1, 4.11 ERA) again as he beat the Bulldogs with 7.2 scoreless innings in a 4-0 win at Foley Field on April 4th.

In records dating back to 1950, Clemson leads the series with Georgia 77-53-1. The Tigers won both meetings last year, posting an 11-6 win in Athens and 12-0 in Clemson. Georgia swept the Clemson series in 2015.

After the Clemson game, Georgia plays host to No. 20 Vanderbilt (22-15, 7-8 SEC) starting Friday at Foley Field. First pitch will be at 7:02 p.m. and it will televised by ESPNU. Saturday’s start time has been adjusted to 6 pm to allow fans a chance to attend “G-Day,” the annual spring football game. Sunday’s game will start at 1:02 p.m. The final two games of the Vanderbilt series will be available on SEC Network+.
