*Senior RHP Bryan Benzor will be making his third career start Tuesday. In his three-year Bulldog career, Benzor is 8-6 with a 4.88 ERA and two saves in 55 appearances. He has pitched 96 innings and has 65 strikeouts and 30 walks. His other two starts this season came in SEC action going four innings apiece against Alabama and #8 Kentucky. As a starter, Benzor is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA (8 IP, 11H, 6R, 1BB, 3K).
*Georgia's leading hitter is All-SEC senior third baseman Curt Powell. He is batting .373 with 18 RBI and fielding .930. In SEC action, Powell is batting .344 and fielding .963. Powell is riding an eight-game hitting streak. Earlier this year, he had a team-best 13-game hitting streak. In his Bulldog career, Powell has appeared in 153 games including 147 starts with a .336 batting average.
*Georgia's top RBI man is senior shortstop Kyle Farmer with 35. He is batting .299 and fielding an impressive .973. He ranks in the top 10 in Bulldog history for AB, H, 2B and RBI.
*Sophomore LHP/OF Jared Walsh struck out a career-high nine in a career-high 5.2 innings to lead Georgia to a road win over Auburn this past Saturday. The win over Auburn marked only his second career start in 14 total appearances. Walsh has made 31 starts as a position player this season including 26 in the outfield and 5 as a DH. For the year, Walsh is batting .312-2-17 and is 2-3 with a 2.33 ERA and three saves. Before Walsh, the last Bulldog to be a P/DH regularly on the weekend was Tracy Wildes in 1991. He did it 14 times. Two weeks ago, Walsh became the first Bulldog since 1992 to start a game as the Pitcher/DH when he did it against Missouri. It was his first career start on the mound after 12 relief appearances. Walsh has hit safely in the past six games. During the streak, Walsh is batting .375 (9-24, 5 RBI).
*Sophomore LHP Jarrett Brown (0-0, 2.18 ERA) leads the team with 19 relief appearances covering a span of 20.2 innings. Opponents are batting .208 against him.
*Redshirt freshman Mike Mancuso (0-1, 4.41 ERA) has seen more action of late. After pitching two scoreless innings against Furman on March 19, he did not pitch again until the Missouri series in April. In the Major Leagues, he would have received a "hold" for his two scoreless innings of work in the win over the Tigers on April 6. Since then, he has been called on twice more and has been effective with a scoreless inning against #20 Ga. Tech on April 9 and 2.1 scorelss innings against Auburn on April 13.
