ATHENS-----Georgia returns to action Tuesday at Western Carolina with first pitch slated for 5 p.m. Bulldog freshman right-hander David Sosebee (2-0, 2.84 ERA) will start while the Catamounts (20-9) have not announced a starting pitcher.

*Georgia has dropped five of its last six games. Up next, the Bulldogs embark on the grueling part of the 2012 schedule with SEC road series at #13 Arkansas (22-6, 5-4 SEC), #1 Florida (24-4, 6-3 SEC) and #12 LSU (22-6, 6-3 SEC) this month. The lone home SEC series in April is versus #10 Ole Miss (April 12-14), and the Rebels just knocked off top-ranked Florida in Oxford two games to one. First up, Georgia steps out of conference against Western Carolina (20-9) Tuesday. Georgia leads the all-time series with WCU 36-18. Georiga’s last trip to WCU came in 2007, a 12-7 Bulldog victory.

*The Catamounts gave Georgia its first loss of 2012 (Feb. 29 in Athens), posting a 5-3 decision. Trailing 3-2 in the fifth, WCU scored three runs on one hit, one Bulldog miscue and three walks to take the lead for good. Earl Daniels got the loss while senior Chase Hawkins did provide three scoreless innings of relief. WCU starter Adam Curtis (6.2 IP, 6H, 3R) got the win. Since that day, WCU is 15-6.

*Georgia is batting .287 as a team with a 3.36 ERA and a .975 Fielding Percentage. In SEC action, the Bulldogs are batting .307 with a 4.52 ERA and a .975 Fielding Percentage.

*Freshman left fielder Hunter Cole (.330-6-16) owns a career-best 12-game hitting streak. During the stretch, he is batting .455 (20-for-44) with 5 HRs & 10 RBI. Cole is batting .424-3-5 in SEC action. Meanwhile, junior third baseman Curt Powell (.356) has reached base safely in 15 straight games.

*Junior LHP Blake Dieterich (3-1, 0.84 ERA, 5 SV) has assumed the closer role this season with junior Tyler Maloof sidelined with a lat injury. He is 5-for-6 in Save Chances this year.
