ATHENS-----Georgia returns to Foley Field this week for the start of a four-game homestand to close out March. It features 20th-ranked Clemson (14-9) Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. (CSS-TV) and then an SEC series with Texas A&M (17-8, 3-3 SEC) starting Friday at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (14-10-1) are coming off a tough weekend at #6 LSU that saw the Tigers win the first two games (4-0 and 2-1), and then the teams played 13 innings and ultimately tied 2-2 due to an SEC travel curfew.  It marked Georgia’s first tie game since 2008 when the same thing happened at LSU (10-10 in 12 innings). Meanwhile, Clemson went 1-2 against top-ranked FSU while the Aggies won a home series over Florida 2-1. Georgia’s annual two-game set with Clemson concludes on the Tiger campus on April 8. Last year, the Aggies opened SEC action with a three-game sweep of the Bulldogs in College Station in the first-ever meetings between the schools.

In records dating back to 1950, Clemson leads the series with Georgia 73-50-1. Last year in the two meetings, the road team notched a win. The Tigers beat Georgia 9-1 in Athens and the next day in Clemson, the Bulldogs snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory.

For the year, Georgia is batting .273 with a 3.96 ERA and fielding .970. Offensively, Georgia ranks second in the SEC with 133 walks but have a league-high 167 strikeouts. In SEC action, Georgia leads the conference in pitching with a 2.25 ERA, however the Bulldogs rank 14th in batting at .184 and have scored just 12 runs in six league games after facing #24 Miss. State and #6 LSU. Georgia leads the SEC in Double Plays Turned with 27. Clemson is batting .293 with a 4.68 ERA and a .963 fielding percentage.
