ATHENS, Ga. - The Georgia baseball team (8-9, 0-0 SEC) begins Southeastern Conference action Friday, March 18 with game one of a three-game set at fourth-ranked South Carolina (12-3, 0-0 SEC). First pitch for Friday's game is slated for 7 p.m. from Carolina Stadium. Game two begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday and game three starts at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Bulldogs, under the direction of head coach David Perno will complete a nine-game road trip with this series. Georgia is 5-1 on this current trip. In records dating back to 1950, South Carolina leads the series with Georgia 50-35. Last year, the Gamecocks swept Georgia, winning 11-4 and then after rain washed out Saturday's action, they took a couple of seven-inning contests, 5-0 and 8-7. South Carolina has won six straight in the series since Georgia swept the Gamecocks in 2008.

Georgia's Friday night starter Alex Wood is the current SEC Pitcher of the Week after beating #10 UCLA in Los Angeles last Friday. The sophomore left-hander struck out a career-high 11 in seven innings, allowing just one run on four hits with no walks.
Bulldog junior second baseman Levi Hyams leads the team with a .362 batting average, and he owns a nine-game hitting streak.
