On Saturday, Jan. 26, the Braves 400 Fan Club at their annual banquet will honor Georgia senior shortstop Kyle Farmer as the Most Outstanding Scholar Athlete in the state.
Farmer will receive the award during the 47th Eddie Glennon “Gameboree” at the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center with Chipper Jones serving as the headliner. Current and former Atlanta Braves will pay tribute to Jones plus a number of awards will be given to honor the top baseball players around the state and in the Braves organization.
Farmer, a Communication Studies major, owns a .313 career batting average with 15 home runs and 124 RBI. He was a 35th round draft pick of the New York Yankees last June and served as the starting shortstop for Team USA this past summer.
