Mike Dillon, ATC, CSCS
Mike Dillon was named Associate Athletic Trainer in March 1997 after serving as an assistant athletic trainer since 1987. His responsibilities include care, prevention, and rehabilitation for the UGA baseball team. Mike is also responsible for the purchasing and inventory control and computer technology for the sports medicine department.
Mike was named Head Basketball Trainer in 1987 after serving as Head Athletic Trainer, baseball coach, and physical science teacher at Chapin High School, Chapin, SC. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, and his Master of Arts at the University of Alabama. He is the past president of the South Carolina Athletic Trainers Association and the Georgia Athletic Trainers Association and he currently serves on the Corporate Partnership Committee of the G.A.T.A. His experience also includes working at the United States Olympic-Training center in Colorado Springs and as an athletic trainer for soccer in the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
Mike is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, instructor in first aid and CPR, and an athletic training and emergency care instructor, and a EMT - intermediate. Mike also serves as an instructor in the Department of Kinesology. He received the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association Backbone award in March 1998. Mike has co - authored numerous journal articles and published book chapters. Mike has also lectured throughout the US and Japan. Mike is also a guest reviewer for the Journal of Athletic training in the areas of emergency medicine and rehabilitation. Mike is married to the former Ouida Moore from Cheraw, SC and they have one daughter Hannah Jean. Mike completed his first marathon in January of 2004.
