GEORGIA CROSS COUNTRY HOSTS BULLDOG STAMPEDE FRIDAY

ATHENS, Ga. -- The Georgia men's and women's cross country teams host the Bulldog Stampede Friday, Oct. 5, at the University of Georgia Golf Course Friday in Athens.

Clemson, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Kennesaw State are scheduled to compete against the Lady Bulldogs in the women's race. Kennesaw State will compete against the Bulldogs in the men's race.

"This meet gives us an opportunity to run at home and to sure up our top eight runners on the team," Georgia cross country coach Dan Waters said. "We'll see whose ready to go for the championship season. It's also a nice opportunity to get everybody to run and get as many friends and family members out to watch."

The first 100 fans will receive free t-shirts. The women's two mile race is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start. The men's 5,000 meter race is slated for 6:30 p.m.
