ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia track and field senior Lucie Ondraschkova has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Third Team, according to an announcement by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Ondraschkova, a native of Opava, Czech Republic, is the only member of the Southeastern Conference on the Third Team and one of six women selected to the three Academic All-America teams who hail from the SEC.
Ondraschkova advanced to her fourth consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon in June. She earned a First Team All-America certificate after taking seventh with a career-high score of 5,853. Indoors, Ondraschkova earned First Team All-America honors in the pentathlon with a fourth-place finish this year after bringing Second Team All-America honors back to Athens in 2011.
The two-time SEC runner-up in the pentathlon was named a 2010-2012 USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual and earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll from 2010-12. Ondraschkova is one of only four student-athletes inducted into the University of Georgia’s Blue Key Honor Society. She posted a 3.88 GPA and is a Finance major.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, and have reached at least sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
