War Eagle Invite - Day One ResultsGet Acrobat Reader

AUBURN, Ala. --- Georgia junior Elizabeth Tepe launched her second consecutive career best in the hammer throw to win during the first day of the War Eagle Invitational in Auburn, Ala., on Friday afternoon.

Tepe posted her second straight personal best in the hammer throw to tally her second victory this season.  Tepe had four throws before launching a career-long toss of 200 feet, 5 inches.  This improves her No. 5 spot in the school record books and moves her to No. 17 on the national performance list and second in the SEC.

"Liz is making progress that we thought she would," said Bulldog head coach Wayne Norton.  "She is becoming a legitimate Division I and Southeastern Conference level thrower.  Liz is one of those newcomers who have contributed in a big way this season.  She definitely has a bright future with UGA."

The second day of the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., also began on Friday.  Georgia's results from the meet will be released at a later point.

The bulk of the events at the War Eagle meet are scheduled to begin at noon.

Results and recaps from the Bulldogs' two meets will also be found at georgiadogs.com.
