ATHENS, Ga. -- Three Georgia athletes and a relay team qualified for the NCAA Championships during the final day of the UGA Fall Invitational at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Sunday afternoon. The top-ranked Lady Bulldogs won the three-day meet with 1,007.5 points, bettering California's 905 points. The 11th-ranked Georgia men finished second with 984 points, trailing only Tennessee's 1,025.5. Laura Conway, Aleksandra Putra and Sebastien Rouault all recorded A-cut times on Sunday for Georgia. The 400 free relay team of Jessica Cole, Kara Lynn Joyce, Tricia Harm and Mary DeScenza also notched an A-cut mark in the event. "This was probably the best invitational that we have ever had on the guys' side," Georgia coach Jack Bauerle said. "For the women, Mary was spectacular, and her five A-cuts is something we've never had. I wish we could swim her in every event." In the 1,650 free, Conway (16:19.78) clocked an A-cut time and won the event. Claire Maust (16:36.71) and Alyssa Kiel (16:46.65) also lowered their B-cut marks.
