ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's Ann-Perry Blank has been chosen as the Southeastern Conference Female Diver of the Week, according to an announcement by the league office.
Blank, a senior from Moultrie, swept the 1- and 3-meter springboards in Georgia's wins over Georgia Tech last Tuesday and at LSU last Friday.
Against the Yellow Jackets, Blank won the 1-meter with 295.27 points and the 3-meter with 339.52 points. She then took the 1-meter with 290.03 points and the 3-meter with 343.73 points against LSU. Her 3-meter score against the Tigers established her career-high total.
Blank already has Zone qualifying scores on both boards (297.74 on 1-meter and 343.73 on 3-meter). The Zone B Championships will be held March 10-12 in Greensboro.
"Ann-Perry has really stepped up this year and performed the way a senior should perform," Georgia diving coach Dan Laak said. "She's diving as well as I've ever seen from her, and I don't see any reason why she can't continue the pace she's on and be a real factor for us once the championships roll around."
Georgia's swimming and diving teams will return to action on Friday, Nov. 1, at Florida. The meet will start at noon. Georgia's next home meet will be Nov. 15 against Emory.
