Fink Places Second In 100m Breaststroke

IRVINE, Calif. --- Georgia's Nicolas Fink came in second in the men's 100-meter breaststroke in the Phillips 66 National Championships late Saturday.

Fink, a rising senior, was the runner-up with a time of 1:00.38, trailing only Cody Miller's 59.91. 

Rising sophomore Olivia Smoliga came in fifth in the women's 100-meter backstroke as she touched in 1:01.08. 

Former Bulldog Andrew Gemmell took fifth in the B final of the men's 400-meter freestyle with a time of 3:53.02.

In the women's 400-meter freestyle, rising senior Amber McDermott won the consolation final in 4:08.90, followed by rising senior Jordan Mattern in second in 4:09.66.

Rising junior Annie Zhu and former Lady Bulldog Allison Schmitt made up half of a 400 medley relay that came in sixth with a time of 4:12.79.
