IRVINE, Calif. -- Georgia's Nicolas Fink claimed second place in the men's 200-meter breaststroke late Thursday in the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships.
Fink, a rising senior, posted a time of 2:09.62 to take the silver medal in the event. Kevin Cordes had the winning time of 2:09.48.
Former Lady Bulldog Melanie Margalis came in third in the women's 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:25.27. Rising junior Annie Zhu won the consolation final in 2:27.83, while rising sophomore Emily Cameron took seventh in 2:30.58.
In the women's 200-meter freestyle, former Lady Bulldog Shannon Vreeland touched in 1:57.73 for fourth. Former Lady Bulldog Allison Schmitt won the B final in 1:58.36, while rising seniors Amber McDermott (1:59.59) and Jordan Mattern (1:59.83) were third and fourth, respectively.
Rising senior Maddie Locus took fifth in the women's 50-meter butterfly as she stopped the clock in 26.41.
Signee Kylie Stewart finished seventh in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:12.42. Rising junior Hali Flickinger won the B final in 2:11.55 and rising sophomore Rachel Zilinskas took fifth in 2:14.49.
In the men's 200-meter backstroke, signee Jay Litherland placed fourth with a time of 2:01.06.
