BARCELONA, Spain --- Georgia's Nic Fink came in eighth on Monday in the 100-meter breaststroke at the World Championships.
Fink, a rising junior, posted a time of 1:00.10.
On Sunday during the prelims, Fink stopped the clock in 59.84. That is the sixth-fastest time in United States history.
The FINA World Championships will continue through Sunday.
Also, the U.S. Open will run Tuesday through Saturday in Irvine, Calif. Georgia swimmers Lauren Harrington, Hali Flickinger, Ty Stewart, Olivia Boggs, Amber McDermott, Will Freeman, Alec Cohen, Conor Sweeney, Shannon O'Malley, Derek Onken, Melanie Margalis, Anna Neumeister, Courtney Peters, Anival Rodriguez, Doug Reynolds and Jessica Graber are scheduled to compete.
