MacLean, Van Landeghem Qualify For Worlds

VICTORIA, British Columbia --- Brittany MacLean and Chantal Van Landeghem, who as freshmen helped Georgia win the NCAA title last month, will be representing Canada in the 2013 World Championships.

MacLean and Van Landeghem qualified during the Canadian World Championship Trials this week at Saanich Commonwealth Place. MacLean placed third in the 200-meter freestyle and will be a member of the 800-meter freestyle relay, while Van Landeghem took third in the 100-meter freestyle and will compete on the 400-meter freestyle relay.

Van Landeghem and MacLean were members of Georgia's winning 400- and 800-yard freestyle relays, respectively, at the NCAA Championships.

The FINA World Championships will be held July 19 through Aug. 4 in Barcelona, Spain. The United States Trials will take place June 25-29 in Indianapolis.
