Georgia Divers Conclude Competition In Zone B Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Georgia's Laura Ryan came in second and Ann-Perry Blank placed 10th on platform on Wednesday as the Zone B Diving Championships concluded at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

In the men's platform competition, Spencer Madanay finished 10th with 609.05 points.

Ryan scored 623.90 points (329.10 in prelims and 294.80 in the finals). Blank notched 474.65 points (233.65 in prelims and 241.00 in the finals). Darcie O'Brien came in 20th with 199.55 points in prelims.

Ryan was the only Georgia diver to advance to the NCAA Championships. By virtue of her win on the 3-meter springboard on Tuesday, she will join the Lady Bulldogs in Minneapolis, Minn., March 20-22. Ryan is a native of Elk River, Minn., which is less than an hour from Minneapolis. She is eligible to compete on all three boards at the NCAAs. Ryan and the Lady Bulldogs will be going for their second straight NCAA title.

Ryan took first on 3-meter, second on platform and fourth on 1-meter during the Zone B Championships. Blank was sixth on 1-meter and 3-meter and 10th on platform.
