Named Second-Team All-SEC after his runner-up finish in the 1,650 freestyle at the league meet. Placed sixth in the 400 individual medley and 10th in the 500 freestyle at the SECs. Named a Presidential Scholar with a 4.0 GPA as a member of the Fall Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Named to the Southeastern Conference Freshmen Academic Honor Roll. Chosen as an Academic All-American by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. International: Won the men's 10K in the 2011 Open Water National Championships. Won gold in the 5K team race at 2011 World Championships. Individually, was fifth and was the fastest American in the Open Water 5K.
