• Graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School.
• Swam for North Baltimore Aquatic Club under Coach Bob Bowman.
• Was the 2009 Junior National Champion in the 100- and the 200-meter breaststroke.

• Named to USA Swimming's National Junior Team in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 and 400 individual medley.
