MARK RICHT KICKING CAMP - June 5

The kicking camp is overseen by Bulldog great Billy Bennett.  Billy and his staff of former players will focus on the following areas associated with kicking: stretching and yoga, fundamentals, techniques, practice habits, and mental approach.  The day will conclude with a kicking competition.
Snappers will be coached on accuracy, timing, and consistency.

 


 

7 ON 7 CAMP - June 6, June 7, June 13
Open to Rising 9th-12th Graders (No Current Seniors)

Dismissal: Mid-afternoon (Butts-Mehre Practice Fields)

The 7 on 7 camps focuses on teaching individual skill positions proper techniques so they can implement them in situations where offenses are matched up against defenses.

Linemen are also offered the invitation to come with their team and practice as well. Prior to lunch, Georgia coaches will instruct. Following lunch, the high school coaches may conduct another practice at their own discretion.

Mark Richt Mini Camp is designed for student-athletes who intend on playing football at the collegiate level.  It’s an opportunity learn and practice fundamentals.  Campers will learn drills that they can take home with them and practice individually.  After practice repetitions, campers will test their skill set in 1 on 1 and group drills.

 


 

MARK RICHT YOUTH DAY CAMP - June 10, June 11, June 12
Open to youth, ages 8-13 (Must be 8 years old by the 1st day of camp)

Mark Richt Youth Day Camp is an opportunity for all levels of players between the ages of 8 and 13.  Whether a newcomer to the game or a youngster trying to hone a skill set, this camp offers instruction focusing on the fundamentals of football.  In order to become a great football player, a solid foundation of skills has to be learned, and that is where this camp focuses its efforts.

This overnight camp offers campers a glimpse of what life as a Georgia Bulldog football player is like.  While competing in 4 practices, focused on building better players, campers will also experience dorm life and learn how to become stronger in the weight room.

The Mark Richt Dawg Night Camp is designed for advanced football players who intend on playing at the most competitive level of Division I football.  Every aspect of this camp will be extremely fast-paced and competitive.  Campers will quickly move from drill to drill, learning techniques from coaches along the way. 

 


INTRO
Entering his 13th season as head coach for the Georgia Bulldogs, Mark Richt is once again preparing his team to win a championship.  Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from Coach Richt and his staff the techniques that have led to 6 SEC Eastern Division Championships, 2 SEC Championships, and 8 bowl victories.

GENERAL CAMP INFO
CHECK-IN
Registration times and locations will be specified for each camp.  Once checking-in campers, family may remain at the fields to watch practice.  Dismissal will also be designated for each individual camp.  Parents are recommended to arrive early for pickup, taking traffic into consideration.

CHECK-OUT
DAY camp check-out will take place on the Butts-Mehre practice fields.

OVERNIGHT camp check-out will take place at Russell Hall dormitory.

REGISTRATION
NCAA rules prohibit payment of camp expenses (transportation, camp tuition, spending money, etc) by representatives of the University of Georgia’s athletic interest.  Furthermore, NCAA rules prohibit free or reduced camp admission privileges for prospects in the 9th grade or above.

Refunds for leaving camp early will be reviewed case by case.  Pro-rates are available upon request.  With homesickness or lethargy, typically no refunds are given.

Registration for the Mini Camp and Varsity Day Camps opens 5/27/13.

TRAVEL
Should a camper be traveling by plane or bus, we will gladly assist you.  We will pick up/drop off at the Athens airport, Athens bus station, or the Georgia Center.  AAA Airport Express is a shuttle service for the Atlanta airport (800-354-7874).  This shuttle service will drop off/pick up at the Georgia Center on campus.  Please let us know the arrival/departure time.

HEALTH, PHYSICALS, & INSURANCE
Campers must be protected by personal medical insurance.  Additionally, upon check-in, each camper must present  a copy of a physical (one done within the last year) or a physician’s signature on our camp form stating that the camper has been examined and is physically fit to participate in camp.

A certified, athletic trainer will be on hand at all times. Athletic trainers sleep in the dorm for the overnight camp.

ITEMS TO WEAR/BRING
Cleats (Optional), tennis shoes, athletic socks, athletic shorts and t-shirt.  Compression shorts are recommended.  There will be little down-time, leaving no need to bring Ipods, Ipads, cell phones, etc.
A Mark Richt football camp t-shirt will be provided at registration.

Mark Richt football camp is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Dorm Needs:
- Sheets (36” x 80” mattress) or sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Bath towels
- Soap/Shampoo
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Sunscreen
- Combination lock
* We suggest that all items be marked with the camper’s name or initials

ROOMMATES
Campers will be housed with other campers their own age (if they have not requested a roommate).  We will make every effort to honor a camper’s roommate request.

GENERAL REGULATIONS
Unless coordinated in advance, campers will NOT be permitted to leave camp.

Overnight campers driving to camp will not have access to their car during camp and will need to purchase a parking pass for $15.

COMMUNICATION
Cell phones are strongly discouraged at camp.  There is no designated place at the practice fields to store phones.  Should a camper need to make a phone call, we will provide a phone.  If a parent/guardian needs to contact a camper, they may call the following numbers:

SPENDING MONEY
Campers may bring money for snacks or gear, but keeping up with the money will be their responsibility.

All camps are open to any and all entrants, limited by age, gender, or grade level.
