Charles Lynn Whittemore, a three-year starter for Georgia as split end from 1968-70, was named Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities in July, 2000. He had previously served nine years as an Administrative Specialist to Director of Athletics Vince Dooley under whom he coached for 13 seasons as an offensive assistant football coach.

Whittemore, an All-SEC Sophomore selection in 1968 and was honorable mention All-SEC in 1969 and 1970 and All-South team in 1970, led the Bulldogs in receiving for three years. He served as president of the Georgia chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was elected permanent offensive captain at the end of his senior season. Whittemore began his coaching career at Memphis State in 1972 as a wide receiver coach before coaching three seasons at Vanderbilt beginning in 1975.

A native of Douglasville, Ga., he is married to the former Debbie Fordham of Lithia Springs, Georgia. They have two children, Amy, who is married to Kenny Hyatt, with two grandchildren: Charles Taylor Hyatt and McKay Harper Hyatt; and Chad, married to the former Karen Sare, with two granchildren, Sareh Kate and Austen Whittemore .
