Steve Bryant, ATC sbryant@sports.uga.edu
Steve Bryant has served on the Georgia Athletic Training staff since 1982. Prior to joining the Athletic Staff he was a student athletic trainer in 1979 and 1980. He was a graduate athletic trainer in 1981. Since 1982 he has held positions including head men's and women's basketball athletic trainer and co-head athletic trainer for football. He is currently serving as the administrator for the Stegeman Coliseum athletic training room working with the Olympic sports. He was named Assistant Athletic Director-Sports Medicine in March of 2013.
Bryant attended Gordon Junior College (A.A. 1978) and received his B.S. (1981) and M.Ed. (1984) degrees from the University of Georgia. He was born in Ozark, Ala., and grew up in Elberton, GA graduating from Elbert County High School in 1976. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and the GA Athletic Trainer's Association. He served as a medical administrator for the 1996 Olympic Games covering volleyball and rhythmic gymnastics that were held in Stegeman Coliseum. He was the 2001 University of Georgia Athletic Association Employee of the Year.
He is married to the former Peggy Anne McGarity of Athens and they have two children, Abby and Bradley.
